DSC Training Academy addresses both the needs of the transportation industry and the personal and professional needs of the student. DSC accomplishes these goals by providing a training program with high standards and professionalism that will graduate prepared and qualified professional drivers. DSC has established a brand in the transportation industry, forming DSC Training Academy in 2000, a Commercial Truck Driver Training School with locations in Greenville, Tupelo and Jackson, MS. It now operates its sole location at the workforce development center at 3906 I-55 South Frontage Road, Jackson, MS. Founder, Mrs. Willie Jones.
Our goals are met by not only providing skills and safety methods but also by matching the personal needs of the student with his/her professional goals and expectations. DSC Training Academy graduates students who are well prepared for the job market from a program of high standards to meet both the immediate and long-range needs of the transportation industry.
ABOUT DSC TRAINING ACADEMY
DSC Training Academy was established to provide a training program that better addresses the needs of the transportation industry and those personal and professional needs of the student. The Staff of DSC Training Academy have over 35 years experience in the transportation industry. DSC Training Academy knows the needs of transportation companies and what it takes to prepare individuals for the needs of the transportation industry.
The program consists of 168 total clock hours (50 classroom, 45 range, 45 over-the-road and 28 career/employer training). The program include four phases: 1) Recruitment, Education and Outreach; 2) Didactic training; 3) Hands on Training: 4) Employment.

How to pay for CDL training
DSC Training Academy is committed to placing Mississippians in higher paying jobs. That’s why we make sure the cost of CDL training doesn’t stand in your way. No matter your financial situation, options are available to help you pay for training. Explore them all, pick the right one(s) for you and get on the path to start earning!
Paid CDL Training…..Our motor carrier partners will assist with the cost of training
Company-Sponsored CDL Training – Cost paid by the Company with a Pre-hire and approved by the Academy.
Candidates who take part in DSC Training Academy’s Company-Sponsored CDL Training program will get four weeks of CDL training. Candidates are placed in a Company driving job with one of our premier carriers once training is complete.
This program provides candidates with:
168 Hours of Classroom, Yard & Road Instruction
Class A License
A Diploma & Certificate of Completion
A reserved job with one of our premier motor carriers once CDL training has been completed.
Tuition Reimbursement – Up to $225/month
Our premier motor carriers offer tuition reimbursement to many recent driving school graduates, paid out in monthly installments of $150-225 per solo driver.
How to apply: While completing CDL training and with the help of our admissions staff, students apply for employment with our premier motor carriers after reviewing the various employment options and speaking with company recruiters at school meetings and by phone.
Forms needed for reimbursement
Copy of receipt or loan agreement.
Copy of enrollment agreement or invoice from the candidate's truck driving school stating the cost of the driving program.

OTHER PAYMENT OPTIONS
If you’re able to pay for driving school on your own up front or through one of our tuition loan providers, that can work great, too. If you choose this route, keep in mind you may be eligible for tuition reimbursement from several motor carriers. See school admissions representative for a list.

Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA)
WIOA funding is available to help enhance training and employment opportunities for individuals facing barriers to employment. (funds are limited and offered when available)

Veteran Affairs Education Benefits
If you served in the military, you may be eligible for VA education benefits through the GI Bill that can cover the cost of your truck driving school education.
